It matters who starts

11.09.2024

Starting processes, or more precisely process instances, could be done by any member of the Organization. Generally this makes sense, but as practice has shown, not always. This is because there are situations in which we do not want this to happen.

Examples can be multiplied, e.g.: we want sales contracts to be initiated only by sales employees, incoming correspondence should always begin its course in the secretary’s office, purchase requests are to be created only by department managers, announcements are to be sent out only by the management office, etc., etc., etc.

Therefore, we have introduced the possibility of changing the default. It consists in the fact that by creating or editing the process definition, we can change this permission:

Dew- X Change permissions

by indicating one or more selected User Groups

Who can create new tasks in Dew-X

From that moment, only members of these groups will be able to start a given process.
Of course, first create the appropriate User Groups and assign the right people to them.

Note: this also applies to Owner and Admins!

Dew-X won us over with its unique combination of transparency and flexibility. The interface is intuitive to use, but the real value lies in the ability to tailor the system to our own processes, rather than forcing the organization to conform to a rigid tool. Equally important was the company’s own approach to implementation: availability at every stage, a positive collaborative atmosphere, and a team that knows its product inside and out.
