2FA two-factor authentication

Workflow or project management systems are usually not expected to have the same level of security as, for example, banking applications.

And this is not even about the security of the application itself, but about preventing unauthorized use.

One of the best security mechanisms is Two Factor Authenticaton, or 2FA for short

Properly configured, it will protect access to your account even if your password is compromised or stolen.

There are several methods – the second ingredient needed to log in can be:

  • a code sent by SMS
  • a code created by an application installed on your mobile device
  • a code (security pony) or codes previously generated and stored in a secure location
  • a code generated by a hardware token

At Dew-X, we recognized that the user also has the right to use this type of additional security. Therefore, we introduced 2FA two-factor authentication.

We decided to use two methods, i.e. a code created by a third-party application installed on the mobile device and a pre-generated key to be stored in a safe place.

You can use Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or another type of Authenticator as the application for generating codes on your smartphone (or tablet). These types of apps have many advantages over text messages, such as no need to use a cellular signal or wait for an SMS.
